The sky’s the limit. Ciel Spa at SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills reaches the stars.
It often feels as though there are more stars in Beverly HIlls than there are in the skies. And so, at the aptly named
Ciel Spa
(Ciel is French for ‘sky’) at the SLS Hotel – it seems that the services here are only limited by one’s imagination.
The only downside was that I was limited to three hours that I had while rushing off to NYFW. With so many options to choose from at the spa, I really would have preferred three days. Given that amount of time I could have run the gamut from head to toe – literally! From hair services to pedicure. And everything in between – waxing, facials, manicure, and more.
I love little interior design details like this.
My Ciel Spa afternoon began by walking thru the doors into the most beautiful sanctuary. You’ll think you’re walking on cloud nine, surrounded by soothing white everywhere – you’d never know that you’re actually surrounded by a state-of-the-art wellness center that caters to post-plastic-surgery recovery patients. We’re incredibly lucky that the SLS Hotel allows us all access to this oasis.
I opted for the women’s only lounge which felt like a modern, luxurious boudoir. I was offered champagne and informed that in the co-ed waiting area there’s also fruit-infused water, brownies, cookies and other snacks. I love a spa that doesn’t feel wheatgrass juice is the only option.
I loved the robe and cutest pair of flipflops ever:
I was then escorted to a private room where I endured the agony of a custom skin analysis. Ciel is the first spa in LA to use something called the Biologique Recherché Methodology. I just hope it’s not so smart that it realizes I lied when I said I don’t sleep in my makeup. After six pages (no wonder they offer champagne to start) it was decreed that I needed a fruit acid mask for light, yet thorough exfoliation. I didn’t feel anything other than a pleasant tingling but I knew it worked because my skin felt smooth and glowing after the treatment. And I have to say that pleasant also referred to my personal aesthetician Catherina who was so lovely, which isn’t always the case at uber posh establishments.
After the facial I had a 40 minute gap before my manicure so I popped down to the Philippe Starck designed lobby downstairs for lunch. I felt as though I got enough vitamins via the fruit in my facial, so I ordered this:
Fortunately, all burger juice and french fry oil was erased when I got my gel manicure. Not only did it hide the evidence of a calorie indulgence but the gel manicure lasted for 8 days chip free even after 7 days of heavy traveling worldwide. My nails clocked in 14,000 miles around the globe as well as countless hours typing on my laptop and various devices.
The Couples’ Treatment Room at the Ciel Spa
I can’t wait to go back and try all their other offerings. The Ciel Spa is definitely my number one choice in Beverly Hills for serious luxurious treatments. If we’re told to “reach for the sky”, I’ll be reaching for the phone number of the Ciel Spa.
If there’s one fashion item that I’d have to invest on, it would be delectable Italian-leather made bags. A popular guilty pleasure but you know it’s worth every penny. Aside from shoes, it’s the one thing that could make or break an outfit or better yet, exist on its own as a fashion statement. Ladies, you’ve got to agree, everyone’s been a bagaholic once in they’re life! On this week’s IT LIST, see my must have bag list!
Go ahead, cop one of your own– it will be our little secret! 🙂

One way to help minimize your impulsive buys is to treat shopping as a special experience. It’s very easy to get distracted when you while away your free time walking the aisles of the department store, but if you make shopping a special “event”, then you’re more likely to spend more time thinking before you make any purchases.
For example, shopping can be a special bonding event for you and your loved ones. It’s not about wanting to buy things. You don’t even have to buy anything at all. Spending time at the mall testing products and trying out new clothes can be a fun experience. Invite your female friends or family members. If you’re a mom, bring your daughter and spend a fun day looking at great new trends or the latest colors in makeup.
Best of all, it’s a short period of time wherein you can exchange ideas and get to know more about your shopping partner. It doesn’t matter if you’re an expert or not. You probably have some tips or advice you can share. The same thing applies to your shopping partner, who can bring some insight or necessary honesty when you’re looking at clothes.
Here are some tips to remember when out shopping with someone you love and cherish:
Encourage! One reason why we love shopping with others is because we want to hear honest feedback. Be honest but not tactless. If the garment doesn’t suit her, then by all means say so. However, it’s one thing to be truthful and another to be hurtful. Be kind. You should also take the time to compliment one another. Sometimes, shopping is a way to lift up your mood. All it takes is a friend’s kind words and sometime checking out nice clothes.
Pick out clothes for one another. This can be fun, and it’s always nice to get some ideas from someone you trust. Your friend could pick out a look that you’ve never considered. Maybe she has some idea of what might look good on you, except you but that you’ve never had a chance to try it. This is your opportunity. Let her pick something for you, and in turn pick something for her. You’re not buying anything yet anyway so just experiment to your heart’s content.
Talk each other away from the ledge. It’s a metaphorical ledge, of course. You don’t want your friend to buy something unnecessary and expensive. Going on a shopping trip together means you can be the sounding wall for her ideas. If the item she wants to buy isn’t something she needs or isn’t something that looks good on her, say so. That’s your job as a shopping wingman! At the same time, your friend can talk you out of unnecessary purchases, too. It’s safer to shop when someone who’s objective is shopping with you.
Have you got a shopping tip you’d like to share?

In doing your Hair and Makeup, make sure that it will support your style concept and give you maximum benefits with a minimum number of products. Check your dresser and your bathroom when was the last time that you de-clutter the things that you rarely use to the overused brushes or sponges. Here is some guide to help you manage your beauty products
Brushes
Check for your brushes if it is still usable or do you need to buy a new one, torn bristles can damage hair often and its unhealthy for the scalp.
Hair Accessory
Determine the clips that you are using often, throw away ponytails that is loose and those rusty overused bobby pins.
Hot Iron
If you have one or 3 hot irons in your bathroom check if they are all still working, check the plates if it still good to use, broken plates can damage more so make sure that you clean them after use and store them neatly.
Blowers
If you’re the type of girl who stores about 2-4 blowers at home, think again, check if it is still working, if it is still clean to use. There’s a trend in the market right now wherein you could just change the nozzle of your blower instead of buying different types of it. You’ll be able to save more cash to buy for some important stuff.
Sprays
Check if the sprays you are using is damaging your hair a lot, try considering a more organic approach, it’s a much cheaper plus its ecofriendly. Verify the expiration dates of the sprays that you have, throw away those empty cans and store only about 2 sprays so it won’t occupy your space a lot.
Extensions
If this is one of the accessories that you would never leave home without, I beg of you: make sure that your hair extensions are clean and well-maintained. Wash them to remove any product residue so that you will be able to use them for a longer period of time. Good hair extensions can be very pricey so it’s important to take care of them.
Shampoo / Conditioners
There are a lot of varieties of shampoo to choose from, most of them promises to give you the result that you’re looking for in days, so there you go, bought dozens different kind of shampoos to choose from and ended stacking up those unused and used shampoo in your bathroom. First determine what hair type do you have and what do you need? find the one that suits your hair consider buying organic shampoos wherein it has less chemicals which eventually can damage your hair if overuse.

Having a signature look is what defines you, It represents your own personal style and It is the best start for your fun style journey.
Being unique doesn’t mean you have to be bold and different in every way. Unique means that you’ll be able to stand out, let’s put it this way you’re at a tea party and when you entered the room a lady from the corner table is also wearing the same turquoise skirt that you have on. How do you stand out girl?
Make sure that whatever clothes you’re going to buy fits you perfectly, it hugs your body on right places
Consider the fabric and texture, find clothes that will flow and accentuate your features
Accessorize! Accessorize! To help the outfit stand out find the right accessories to match your dress, but remember less is more. Too much component can make you look like a chandelier.
Make up, it is not required to wear it every day or whenever you go out even a natural look can be your signature, you just have to check your face and skin, pamper yourself once in a while to freshen up and to wake up your inner glow. If ever you have to put on make-up, yes definitely it is fine but then again ladies LESS IS MORE you wouldn’t want to look like a clown or even a zombie with those beauty products that you put on, the key is find your asset, if it is your eyes, focus on making them pop up, if it is your lips make that as a highlight on your face.

#FollowYourSpirit … and do whatever makes you happy.
When I was growing up, the symbol of success and class was the Montblanc pen. My dad had a couple engraved with his initials that he used for when he needed to attend important meetings. When not in use, they were tucked away safe and sound in their velvet-lined cases, safe from my childish hands. At high school graduation I settled for the Cross pen set, and it seemed a Montblanc remained as unattainable as scaling the actual Mont Blanc in the Alps.
In 2011, the company came out with a men’s fragrance named Legend with a price-point that was achievable even for those who are not titans of industry. Recently they followed it up with the scent Legend Spirit. Staying true to the “blanc” in their name, the flask-inspired bottle’s lower portion is white and the scent is crisp and clean.
The Montblanc’s slogan is “Follow Your Spirit” and I’m here to tell you that my spirit loves the smell and embraces my right to wear what I want!
The fragrance is billed as having hints of peppercorn and grapefruit, topped with lavender and cashmere. I ask you – what woman doesn’t love food, flowers and fine fabric? And the more traditionally masculine tones of wood and bergamot are just as pleasing to this palate. Montblanc manages to mix all these scents into a light, airy, and downright as cool as the icy slopes of the mountain for which it’s named.
A woman wearing men’s perfume might not be newsworthy but I think it symbolizes the right to question rules and norms specifically – you should be able to do whatever you want if it doesn’t hurt anyone else. As both an influencer and CEO of an influencer network that has 20,000 members, I hear everyday women telling me they feel like they are restricted by what they feel society expects them to be.
I have the spirit of a woman who really do not care for rules. I’ll wear men’s perfume, wear white after Labor Day, and I will definitely have cake for breakfast. And so, for the time being, I’m going to “follow my spirit” and dab on the scent that reminds me I’m free #followyourspirit
