In doing your Hair and Makeup, make sure that it will support your style concept and give you maximum benefits with a minimum number of products. Check your dresser and your bathroom when was the last time that you de-clutter the things that you rarely use to the overused brushes or sponges. Here is some guide to help you manage your beauty products
Check for your brushes if it is still usable or do you need to buy a new one, torn bristles can damage hair often and its unhealthy for the scalp.
Determine the clips that you are using often, throw away ponytails that is loose and those rusty overused bobby pins.
If you have one or 3 hot irons in your bathroom check if they are all still working, check the plates if it still good to use, broken plates can damage more so make sure that you clean them after use and store them neatly.
If you’re the type of girl who stores about 2-4 blowers at home, think again, check if it is still working, if it is still clean to use. There’s a trend in the market right now wherein you could just change the nozzle of your blower instead of buying different types of it. You’ll be able to save more cash to buy for some important stuff.
Check if the sprays you are using is damaging your hair a lot, try considering a more organic approach, it’s a much cheaper plus its ecofriendly. Verify the expiration dates of the sprays that you have, throw away those empty cans and store only about 2 sprays so it won’t occupy your space a lot.
If this is one of the accessories that you would never leave home without, I beg of you: make sure that your hair extensions are clean and well-maintained. Wash them to remove any product residue so that you will be able to use them for a longer period of time. Good hair extensions can be very pricey so it’s important to take care of them.
Shampoo / Conditioners
There are a lot of varieties of shampoo to choose from, most of them promises to give you the result that you’re looking for in days, so there you go, bought dozens different kind of shampoos to choose from and ended stacking up those unused and used shampoo in your bathroom. First determine what hair type do you have and what do you need? find the one that suits your hair consider buying organic shampoos wherein it has less chemicals which eventually can damage your hair if overuse.

Let’s be honest, searching for a new apartment can be exciting, but it can also be just as stressful. Trust me, I know. But taking the time and resources to locate the best place for you definitely worth it. There a many different facets to apartment hunting that need to be considered while looking for the perfect place. Not only is price a major factor in the decision making process, but one has to consider any additional fees, amenities, location and much more. Luckily for you, I have the necessary elements one must consider to find the perfect apartment!
First, you need to know what you want. Make a list of things that are negotiable and non-negotiable. Decide what is important for you to have in your next home. How many bedrooms do you want? What is your minimum and maximum square footage? How much closet space do you need? Washer and Dryer? Figuring out everything you want in an apartment before your begin hunt will help you stay organized and on track with your search.
Location is very important! Not only do you want your apartment to be in a safe location, it’s ideal for it to be not to far from the freeway and shopping centers (groceries, retail, etc). Its also important for it to be close to your place of work; you don’t want your commute to be too far from where you live.
What amenities are important to you for your new place? Gym, pool, spa multipurpose room? These amenities can prove to be very beneficial for many reasons. Having a gym membership can be costly, with prices ranging from $30 to around $120 a month. Having a gym on-site is a huge plus if you think you utilize a fitness center in your building. A pool or spa is definitely a great amenity that can help you unwind and relax whenever you want. Whatever amenities you determine are necessary for your new complex/ building, make sure to include them on your list of ‘must-haves’ for your search.
Do Your Research
For each place you’re interested in, make sure to do thorough research on each place. For instance, you might want to find out whether there is designated parking for each tenant. This is important considering you don’t want to have to have to circle your complex over and over to find a parking space. Also, its a better safety precaution to have a designated space- preferably one that is close to your building. Don’t get trapped by hidden expenses either. Ask who is responsible to pay for electricity, heat, Cable TV, and water? Also for your safety, ask what security features and fire protection features do they have?
I hope this mini-guide helps make a seamless search for your new place. Happy apartment hunting!
If you did not know by now, I’m a major app girl. Every major function of my work and personal life is made easier due to one app or another. And so when two weeks ago I was approached by PRIV to try out and review their new beauty on-demand app ( and get my grooming done at home so I can do more work at the same time?!), to say I was enthusiastic was an understatement.
I know there are a whole bunch of beauty service apps out there now – but I can safely say this is by far the most comprehensive. Here are the services provided by Priv in a nutshell:
Fitness – Personal Training, Yoga & Kickboxing
Massage – All Kinds of Massage including Prenatal Massage
Makeup – Brow Shaping, Makeup Application, Countouring, Airbrushing & Makeup Lessons
Hair Services – Haircuts, Blowouts, Updos, Braids and Dry Styling, Children Haircuts
Spray Tans – Airbrush Tan from the comfort of your home.
Men’s Grooming – Haircuts, Haircut with Upper Body Grooming, Mustache and/or Beard Trim & Style, MENicures
The best thing about Priv is that for most of the services, you can book a group service – so if you ever want to schedule a girl’s night in with some beauty treatments scheduled in, Priv is your go-to app. Sounds exciting yes? I also heard that there are plans to have at-home lash extension services.
So for my review, I decided to go with a spa manipedi. My nail specialist is the lovely Teresa Nguyen who showed up with loads of these Deborah Lipmann polishes (she swears by them) and all the tools needed for a nail service in her wheelie.
My spa manipedi service was $90 flat because all tip and gratuities are included which is another great feature of Priv. All their services range from $50 to $350 all in, and when I consider the time that I save not having to go out, drive, get parking, drive back etc. I think the price point is very reasonable.
And PS : Here’s why you should think twice before going for that $20 nail service at the nail salon.
The Priv app is really simple to use. All you have to do is:
Download the app .
Enter your deets aka Your Name, Address and Credit Card Information.
Pick the service(s) you want.
Schedule A Service. ( Note : Don’t get confused when you see your provider being available only for one time slot. Click on his or her profile and you can see other time slots available.)
You will get an email confirmation from Priv.
On the day of service, there is no need to tip or pay via cash. Everything is done by your service provider via Priv.
Take a photo and/or give feedback about your service provider by the app. Service providers with higher ratings naturally will get booked more/often.
Repeat as needed.
